Value for money
The web site made the room look far better than the actual .
Sorry to say but I found the room too small, as bed was too large and no comfortable chair to sit in. Not a place to relax at all.
Bathroom too narrow. Mirror light noisy and didn't work. Too much noise coming in from neighbouring rooms. Door knocking from slight wind as if someone was trying to enter. Freight train noise intrusive. Website photos misleading about size of room.
suprised with the modern and comfort and you would not find a more relased place to stay I would rate this hotel 8 out of 10.
not really a dislike just the court yard room we stayed in would be better with a double bed this would allow for a small table and chairs ?
The closeness to the airport and the mersey ferry across the river.
The quality of the meals left a lot to be desired.
we found the bed a bit on the firm side for older folks
it was extremely suited to meeting passengers coming off "The Spirit"
Lack of choices and prices of the menu at hotel ie could not get Nacho's or order childrens serves for adults
Surroundings, comfort, staff attitude, cleanliness, view, convenience to Shopping and Ferries.
rooms neat, clean. Very close proximity to the ship Food excellent
Closeness to the Tasmania Ferry
Paper thin walls - could hear every word of people talking in neighbouring room untl early hours of the morning - could not sleep
The room had been renovated, with new TV and appliances and the king bed was comfortable.
The place was full of bikies, some of whom were in the next room. Very thin walls enabled their all night chatter to be easily heard.
Room is clean. Close to city center and Spirit of Tasmania.
I do not like the doona. Thin and hard. Not very comfortable.
The Edgewater Hotel is a motel attached to a pub - complete with bistro, gaming rooms, etc etc. Excellent breakfast available in the bistro (but see below re dinner). Very conveniently situated right next to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal. Very user-friendly laundromat for guests' use.
Dinner in the bistro was satisfactory but not memorable. Very restricted lists of entrees (eg no soup, no oysters) and desserts (eg no ice cream).
the convenience of being close to the Tasmanian Ferry Terminal at Devonport
It was really clean and the price was exdellent. Bed was really comfortable.
It had no drinks of choice in the fridge. We came on christmas christmas day and there was nothing to eat in the hotel or outside the hotel. Also the balcony could of been much much bigger to close that ugly tin roof to over look the canal water way.
